Elevator Talk

I found myself sharing an elevator with a gentleman who looked as if he'd had better days. He compliments my smile and proceeds to share with me a little bit of wisdom:

When I find myself in court, he says, I don't ask God for fairness, no ma'am. Fairness isn't going to be good for me. I ask God for mercy. Because, that's what I need. Mercy. My mom would tell me when she went shopping, she didn't want to find a fair price. She wanted to find an unreasonably good price!

As we leave the building, I wished him a great rest of his day. He pumped his fists up in the air and shouted "woo hooo!"
